We can assist in either taking you or sending you wherever you need to go for ski, boot, and poles rental OR whatever your Snowboard needs may be. We always suggest if your an Adult or a Youth ( and your feet have stopped growing ) to get your own set of boots ASAP so you have that perfect fit every day ( there is nothing worse than having cold and sore (or wet) feet ).

Let's face it you're no downhill racer so buy gear that's appropriate. Most everyday skiers don't need some rigid concrete block hanging off the end of your leg nor do you need to buy over-priced brand names - either of the range above will be perfect in fit and price - thank me after!

If you have difficult feet you may consider investing in a full custom boot setup with foam injected liners and foot-beds. I have difficult feet so this is something I am acutely aware of however I solved the problem almost 23 years ago... how - CUSTOM BOOT FITTING. I've had two pairs of boots in the past 23 years. The first pair lasted 15 years and it was the original 3 piece boot from Raichle with foam injected liner and orthopedic footbed.

Equipment hire can be arranged at Shirakaba Rentals, open from 8:30am to 5:30pm daily. The shop stocks all the big-name international brands, including K2, Salomon, Volkl, Atomic and Rossignol. A set of skis, boots and poles can be rented for ¥3,700 per day. Typical of Japan, multi-day discounts are minimal (dropping to ¥3,200 after the third day). Options for more experienced skiers are also available (and priced accordingly, of course!).
